Project Description
Limits Around Electronics
Spotting the signs:
We live in a digital world now, and that comes with constant access to electronics. While that has the benefit of keeping us constantly connected to our families, it can also cause a lot of problems. Issues can manifest as phones out at the dinner table interrupting important familial bonding, hours spent on the computer instead of engaging in healthy physical and social activities, or even late nights without sleep as they play games or watch endless TV. These are can all be signs of technological addiction. If children become addicted, then they become less motivated to be with their friends and do well in school. There is a lot of prevention that can take place with the right guidance, and by learning to set proper boundaries.
What we can do?
We can help put an end to much of it by setting good examples, creating boundaries in the home and during family events, and by communicating the importance and value in disconnecting from technology at appropriate times.
